Practical Car & Van Rental is the fourth largest vehicle
rental company in the United Kingdom with over 150 car and
van hire locations situated throughout the U.K. in England,
Wales, Scotland and the Irish republic.
We have over 25 years experience of self drive hire and pride
ourselves on delivering an outstanding service, quality rental
vehicles and highly competitive rates. We have cars to suit
every requirement, from 3 door economy cars up to large estate
cars. We also provide people carriers (mpv), executive cars
and convertibles. Mini buses seating up to 17 people are stocked
by numerous rental locations. Automatic vehicles are also
available.
We provide Airport Car & Van hire at most international
and regional airports. These include Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted,
Luton, Dublin, Belfast, Liverpool, Aberdeen, Inverness, East
Midlands, Exeter, Birmingham, Cambridge, Southampton, Newcastle,
Leeds/Bradford and Manchester airports. View our extensive

list opposite.
Most rental locations will provide car hire at local railway
and coach stations. Travellers arriving by train or bus can
be met upon arrival. Deliveries to Hotels, B&Bs accommodation
and business addresses can also be arranged. ‘Out of
hours’ rentals including weekends may also be acceptable
with prior agreement. Check with your appropriate rental location
for more information.
Our commercial vehicle rental choice extends from small courier
vans through to refrigerated units and 7.5 ton lorries. Intermediate
sizes range from the short wheel base (swb) van, through medium
wheel base (mwb), up to long wheel base(lwb) and extra long
(xlwb) vans. Additionally other sized lorries and Luton vans
with and without tail lift are available.
Child seats, global satellite navigation systems, etc., are
available on request.
Continental car and van hire may also be arranged. Contact
your local rental location for a quote.
One way self drive hire rentals can also be arranged. Cars,
7 seaters and vans up to long wheel base are available. Booked
in advance, they can be rented from one location and dropped
off elsewhere. This could be to or from an airport, business
or private address, etc. Full details of your specific requirements

For the recreational vehicle (RV) hirer we have specialist
Motorhome rental locations. They provide motor caravans for
4, 5 and 6 berth hire. U.K. Campervan touring holidays can

location does not suit all our customer needs therefore we
can arrange for you to collect your hire car or van in one
location and drop it off in another. With a large number of
rental franchisees nationally we can offer this self drive
hire facility throughout mainland United Kingdom.

We can have the rental car or van delivered to a local address
in the United Kingdom mainland and recover it from an airport
of your convenience. No parking problems and exorbitant car
park fees, just a stress free start to your trip!

We can arrange this facility at most major U.K. airports.
The car or van can be recovered from your destination at the
end of the rental period.

Would you like to move some goods
to a destination and leave the car or van there for collection?
We have a variety of Commercial vehicles available to provide
this service, from a small ‘courier’ style car
derived van through to the long wheel based (lwb) van.

Please be specific with your times and dates of delivery and
return, as the pricing structure is dependant on accurate
information. If your destination is not one of our establishments
we will require the full Postcode before we can provide a
quote.
We will promptly reply to your request, either by email or
telephone.
N.B. We require a minimum of 48 hours notice to organise this
service, not including weekends. Also, this is always subject
to vehicle availability. You may be required to visit your
nearest location, prior to the rental, to complete the necessary
paperwork and identification procedures. Penalties will be
incurred for late vehicle returns. A valid credit card will
be required in respect of all payments and rental deposits.
